To the right of each file list are buttons that let Revisions do its thing. Each file gets a color-coded tag showing the last thing done to it, whether it was Created, Modified, Deleted, and so on. The activity window displays your files in reverse chronological order, with the new files at the top. Going the other way, you can highlight a single group and click the Ungroup button to break the files out into individual groups. You can also click to highlight multiple groups in the activity window and then click the Group button below to combine groups. Revisions groups your files, and you can select how finely to divide your files into groups by using the Group threshold slider in the second section of the app. The main area of Revisions is the third section that shows your Dropbox activity. You can also filter by date in the second section. At the top of the Revisions window, you can select a specific folder for it to index if you don't want it to run through all of your Dropbox folders. Revisions for Dropbox installs an icon in the menu bar. Dropbox itself keeps previous versions of your files, but Revisions for Dropbox makes it easier to get to those older versions and adds in a few extra features. It's great for individual users who have come to rely on Dropbox to manage their files, and it's a boon for workgroups that use Dropbox to collaborate. To remove the Dropbox folder from your Mac, drag it.Revisions for Dropbox is free in the Mac App Store, and it's basically like turning on track changes for your Dropbox account. Your files will remain in the Dropbox folder on your Mac and in your Dropbox account, but they will no longer sync. Once you have completed the steps above, the Dropbox app will have been uninstalled from your Mac. There are no settings that I can find that stops. If I stopped using it why the heck it is asking me to start it again every time. Now the welcome to dropbox (setup) screen comes up every time I start the computer. I had dropbox active at one point and stopped using it. Now, that you have uninstalled the Dropbox app, you may not need the additional Dropbox files inside the Dropbox. This way you can delete Dropbox from Mac but it won’t delete the Dropbox folder and the files inside it. Finally, select the Dropbox app from the “Applications” folder and move it to the “Trash”. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Command+Shift+G. With the Finder open, click Go in the menu bar, then click “Go to Folder”. The easiest way to clear the Dropbox cache in macOS is to head to the cache folder using the Finder’s “Go to Folder” option. Click on the icon and then click the gear icon in the lower-right corner of the Dropbox window. When the app installs, it places an icon in the menu bar.
